The Chiefs Rug was originally woven by a Navajo weaver. The artwork was painted with acrylic paint. The design is famous because of the Navajo Chief’s rugs that were traded in the beginning of the 20th century. The rug was traded to other indigenous tribal chiefs or medicine men.
